Long Bay
Long Bay is a quiet community that is nestled along a
1 ½ mile pure white sand beach.
It is home to several small restaurants and shops.
The beach at Long Bay is well known as the best surfing
beach in Jamaica. It has earned that title since
this side of the island has predominately higher
prevailing winds.
The Long Bay Beach has several bar/restaurants and
many houses, mostly foreign investor owned. The beach is
great for walks, jogging, body surfing and much more,
but remember, Long Bay Beach is one of the few beaches
here with surf. There is a CURRENT and NO LIFEGUARD is
on duty.

Port Antonio
Port Antonio, one of the Caribbean's most beautiful bays, is surrounded by the Blue Mountains. The town dates back to the 16th century, and sights include Mitchell's Folly, a 2-storey mansion built by the American millionaire Dan Mitchell in 1905, the ruins of a 60-room Great House, and the Folly Point lighthouse that was established in 1888.
The surrounding sea is rich in game fish, with blue marlin as the great prize (there is an annual Blue Marlin Tournament run alongside the Jamaican International Fishing Tournament in Port Antonio every autumn); there are also kingfish, yellowtail, bonito and wahoo.
Port Antonio was discovered by the rich and famous over fifty years ago and in its hay-day was the hideaway for many millionaires and movie stars such as J.P.Morgan, Noel Coward and Errol Flynn. The town with its twin harbors, jewel blue sea and verdant hillsides still retains a colonial feel. Tourism slowed down when the cruise ships discontinued their stopovers in the late 70's but Port Antonio is again becoming a sought after holiday destination... precisely because of its sleepy charm and unspoiled locations.
October hosts the International Marlin Tournament with anglers from around the world hoping to catch the largest blue marlin! Visitors to this area also have access to some of the best eco-tourism on the island.
